The rest of the camping trip :)

Warning - Picture Overload!!!

I figured it would be best to just do a massive post with the rest of the pics from our camping trip. Don't want to keep people waiting!! :)

After our fabulous time at Lark Toys, we made our way over to Stockholm Wisconsin to meet up with my parents. After a quick stop at Ingebretsen's - we made our way to Maiden Rock. My parents had heard about a 1.5 mile hike that takes you right on to the very top of Maiden Rock. The hike was a little steep for the first half - Kevin ended up carrying Blake on his shoulders for most of the hike.
There were a few open vistas before we actually reached "Maiden Rock". Here's my Dad standing on the very edge....too close for me!

Mor Mor showed Blake (and the rest of us) how to eat clover. Blake was in heaven!!

We also discovered blackberries on our way back to the cars. Blake found another fruit to love!

After all the hiking - we headed back to the campground. Blake helped Kevin stack our massive pile of wood.

After our yummy dinner of hot dogs, chips, and watermelon - we sat down for some yummy s'mores. But Blake wouldn't have anything to do with the actual s'more - he enjoyed just the graham cracker.

After s'mores - we still had some time to relax before heading into town for the fireworks. So we decided to check out the beach. We had fun skipping rocks on the water - Blake also had fun playing in the sand.

After playing in the sand - we got in the cars and headed into Lake City to claim our spot for the fireworks. I think we got there around 8:45...and they didn't start the fireworks until 10 ish. Blake was impatient - especially since we just sat there. We had no clue when they would start. The fireworks were very pretty - they were shot off over the water so you could see their reflection over the lake. Gorgeous!

Sunday morning - Blake and Kevin getting breakfast ready.

Blake LOVED the campsite signs. He would walk around to each one and trace the number and letter.

Once my parents arrived - it was off to explore more of the campground. My Dad (Grandad) noticed that there were blackberry bushes behind our tent - so Blake and him went picking.

He would get a couple and shove them in his mouth!! What a lovely mess!

After cleaning all the blackberries off Blake, we got in our cars and drove to Frontenac State Park. Yup - more hiking!! It was gorgeous!! (view of Lake Pepin & the Mississippi River - the Mississippi runs thru Lake Pepin)

After saying goodbye to Mor Mor and Granddad - we made our way back to Hok Si La to play in the water! The lake was kind of cold but it was definitely refreshing!

Sunday night we enjoyed yummy pudgy pizza pies over the campfire. And of course - more s'mores for Kevin and I! We got going pretty early on Monday - Blake made some friends with some other kids so he played while we packed up. It was a fun trip! Blake had a blast and we really enjoyed ourselves! I don't know if we'll be going again this year - but definitely next year!
