A Day in Apple Hill

We wanted to make one last trip up to Apple Hill before we moved to Des Moines. So we loaded up the car on October 3 and made our way "up the hill." We stopped at three different orchards. The first was High Hill Ranch. This was our first time stopping there and I wish we would have discovered it sooner! There were a bunch of vendors, a cute little shop, 2 restaurants, a pie shop, a catch and release pond, ponies....I could go on and on! We ate lunch there and bought some apple donuts (yum!).

We then made our way to Kids Inc. This has always been my favorite place because it is absolutely gorgeous! But because it's on a hill -having a young toddler made it not quite as fun. While there we walked through the Corn Maze and looked at their petting zoo. We also checked out their pumpkins but it was too steep for Blake to find one of his own.

Our final stop was Boa Vista Orchards. And we mainly stopped there for their awesome pumpkin patch and for pie. We went to the pumpkin patch first because it was beginning to rain so we wanted to get the pics done before we all got wet! Blake had a lot of fun picking up the pumpkins and showing us what he found. He thought it was all very exciting! And before we left, we stopped and bought an apple pie to take home and bake. We haven't had it yet but are looking forward to some yummy apple pie!

Sorry for the picture overload!
