Gophers are back on Campus!!

Saturday after lunch we drove up to Minneapolis to head to the Gopher/Air Force game. We got there a little after 4 and then headed over to my brother Shaun's apartment to drop off Blake. Blake was really excited to see Shaun - he talked about it the entire 4 hr drive up (well maybe 3 hrs since he took about an hour nap in the car).

Once we met up with Shaun, we all walked down to the stadium (TCF Stadium) - we were hoping to catch a little bit of the band's plaza performance. But the crowds were crazy! People everywhere. It was awesome!! Both Kevin and I commented that we had never seen that many people on campus - not even after hockey or basketball games. Shaun and Blake then headed back to Shaun's apartment for movie night (it was Toy Story night with a little bit of Nemo too :) )

Kevin and I then proceeded to head to the student section gate (yes we got tickets for the student section - Shaun and one of his roommates hooked us up! And it also helps that we still have our student id's!) We got in the line about 5 pm and we didn't get into the stadium until 6 pm....so we missed watching the band perform pre-game. We were both bummed about that. The lines were crazy - before you could enter the stadium you had to be frisked - which took forever!

Once we got in, we ran up to the upper deck to find some seats (no assigned seating in the student section). And we made it just in time for kick-off. It was amazing!! The stadium is outstanding!!! HUGE video board (3rd largest in the country), great views of downtown Minneapolis, right on campus, it was amazing hearing the roar when the game started!!

The game went alright - first half was kind of boring but the second half definitely was more exciting! Gophers won 20-13! So we were present for the first ever win in TCF Stadium!!

We can't wait until October 3rd - that's the next game we are attending. And it's against Wisconsin!!! Definitely wearing our "Better Dead then Red" shirts!!
